How payouts work

This is the part of a mining service worth reading carefully, because it is the part that can go wrong. Here is exactly what happens to your money, step by step.

From request to transfer

  1. 1
    You ask for a payout

You pick the coin, the amount and the address. We check the address against the format that coin actually uses, so a mistyped one is refused before anything moves.

  2. 2
The money is held on your account

It leaves your available balance immediately and sits in reserve. It is still yours — it is held so it cannot be spent twice while the request is open.

  3. 3
    A person looks at it

Every payout is released by a human being. Nothing sends coins automatically, and there is no threshold at which the service starts paying without someone deciding.

  4. 4
It is sent, or it comes back

If it is sent, you get the transaction and can follow it in the blockchain. If it is refused, the held money returns to your balance in full and the reason is on the request.

While it waits

A waiting request holds its whole amount, so your available balance drops by that much until it is settled. You can have one request in review at a time — otherwise a handful of them would hold your entire balance at once.

You can take it back

While a request is still waiting, you can cancel it yourself from the withdrawals page. The held money returns immediately. You do not have to ask anyone.

And if nobody decides

A request that has waited 72 hours releases itself: the money returns to your balance and the request closes. Your money is never stuck behind somebody being on holiday.

Payouts open after your first deposit

Sign-up hashrate, daily bonuses, promo codes and referral rewards are spendable inside the service — on more hashrate — but they cannot be withdrawn on their own. This is what keeps the service from being farmed by accounts that never put anything in, and it is why the rule exists rather than being a limit on you.

Every movement is a record

Your balance is not a number we edit. It is the sum of a double-entry ledger: every credit and every debit is its own row, with what it was for and what it belonged to. Your balance can be rebuilt from that ledger at any time, and we check that it matches. You can download the whole thing as a statement for any period.

If your account is recovered

Recovering access resets the payout address and locks withdrawals for 24 hours. Someone who has stolen an account does not wait; the real owner does, and that day is enough to take it back with the old password.

What we cannot protect you from

Your income arrives as coins, so its value in dollars moves with the market — if a coin falls, what you earned in it is worth less. Nothing here changes that, and no mining service can. Choosing calmer coins changes how much it moves, not whether it does.
